…continuation of "Sea wing: Wanted: Zanzus D. Dragon (failed)"

"The treatment was a success. He's in a stable condition now." A male voice said.
Scor wondered who was talking and what happened. He slowly opened his eyes, but the only thing he could see were dozy forms of humans.
"He's opening his eyes, master." A girls voice said.
"Oh, I thought he would be sleeping for at least a few hours. Let's see…can you hear us?" The master asked.
Scor nodded. "Good." The master said. "Well I suggest that we put you to sleep for a few hours, so that you can heal up a bit more."
Scor again nodded. "Okay. Put him to sleep, Yuuto." The master said. "Yes, master." Yuuto replied as he used some sleeping magic on Scor.

The next moment Scor opened his eyes, he was in some sort of hut, in a comfy bed. He slowly sat up, feeling jolts of pain shoot through his body, especially his back.
He looked down at his body and noticed that his upper body was practically completely bandaged.
That moment a young woman with red hair came walking in. "Oh I see that you woke up, but you really should keep laying on your back."
Scor looked at the woman. "Were you one of the people that saved me?" He asked.
The woman nodded. "Yes." She replied with a smile. "My name is Inari. I caught you when you came crashing onto the beach and kept you stabilized on your way to the treatment and during it." She continued as she got some food from one of her cabinets.
"Thank you…" Scor said as he looked outside the window and saw a nice looking village. "Where am I, Inari?" Scor asked as he looked back to Inari.
"You are on Serpe island. An island consisting of mainly healing mages, so you were really lucky that you landed here." She smiled as she made a sandwich and put it in front of Scor. "You should eat, it'll help you heal."
Scor nodded, took the sandwich and took a bite of it. "Wow this tastes awesome!"
"Thanks, I'm glad that you like it." Inari smiled.

A moment later the door opened and an old man came in. "I see that he is feeling better now." The man laughed.
"Yes, master Shori, I just made him something to eat." Inari said.
"I can see that. Now tell me, who are you and tell me how you got those wounds." master Shori asked Scor.
Scor told him his name and about his work as a guildmage. He continued to his job and the fight with Zanzus D. Dragon. Master Shori and Inari listened to Scor's story and after Scor was done master Shori walked up to him and checked on Scor's body. "So that's how you sustained those inner burn wounds. I'll be honest, mate, but you were really lucky that you landed here at the time you did and that we found you, cause if we didn't treat you immediately, your body would have died from the burn wounds on your vital organs."
Scor gulped as he got a shocked look. "Could I go outside for a moment? I need some fresh air…" He couldn't believe how close he cut it.
"Well I guess that would be no problem, Inari, can you help him?" master Shori asked to Inari.
"Yes master." She nodded as she walked to Scor and helped him get out of the bed.

"Thanks…you can let go, I'll walk by myself." Scor said as he took a deep breath and slowly struggled to the door, going outside. Once outside, he took another deep breath and relaxed a bit more.
Master Shori and Inari followed him outside and both smiled as they were glad that Scor already recovery was already progressing well.
"When will I be able to go back to my guild?" Scor asked.
Master Shori thought about it for a bit. "Well looking at your wounds and your current state, I'd say it take about a week or three for you to heal."
Scor sighed. "Okay…can I maybe send a message to my guildmaster?"
"Sure, if you want, you can even talk to them. We got someone who created the technique for that, but it would take a week to set up, so you would have to wait till then." Master Shiro replied.
"Okay then I'll wait till then…" He smiled as this was the first really good news that he heard.

The next week was taking really long for Scor. He explored the village together with Inari. Inari showed him something new every day.
Even Scor could give stories to the villagers. He told him about his abilities, his guild and town, his previous battles and jobs and much  more every night at a big campfire in the middle of the village. He enjoyed his stay there and then finally the day that he could talk with his guild.

He was brought to Yuuto. A young man, known for his inventions.
"So how will this work?" Scor asked Yuuto.
"It's quite simple, we'll send this bird, with this paper to your guildmaster. When the bird arrives, the paper will roll out and start the projection. At the same time you will be able to see everyone around the projection." Yuuto explained. "I won't go in detail on the techniques, because then I would be busy till you would be healed up." He laughed.
Scor laughed too. "We'll let's get started then." He smiled as they set out the bird, which rapidly flew away.

As that went on somewhere else in the village, the village elders held a meeting. "Today at this time we'll decide who will be the sacrifice to the golden snake god, Quetzalcoatl."
The elders started discussing a lot, until one stood up. "I suggest we give the gods our strongest medical mage."
The elders started the discussion again and slowly they started to agree with it.
The village leader silenced the elders. "It is decided then. The medical mage Inari will be this year's sacrifice to the golden snake god, Quetzalcoatl."

Back at Yuuto's place, Scor had just finished the conversation with Yuki and Miyuki.
"They were really relieved that you are still alive." Yuuto said with a smile.
"Yeah…I can't wait to be healed up and go home." Scor said happy.
"How about we go to Inari's place to tell her about the conversation?" Yuuto asked.
"Sure, let's go then." He smiled as they went to Inari's place together. When they got there, some of the village elders just left. "Who were that?" Scor asked as he looked at the elders. "No…Inari!" Yuuto quickly ran into the house. "What the…?" Scor followed as fast as he could and inside he found a hugging Inari and Yuuto. Inari was crying and clinging to Yuuto, while uttering the words, "I don't wanna be the sacrifice, I don't want to…"
"What happened, Inari?" Scor asked concerned.
"They made her the yearly sacrifice…." Yuuto answered for Inari, as she cried further.
"Yearly sacrifice?" Scor asked. "They made her the yearly sacrifice for the golden snake god, Quetzalcoatl!!!" Yuuto yelled.
Scor stared shocked at the two as Master Shori came running in. "I heard the news and came as fast as possible!" He panted as he walked to Inari. "Don't worry, we'll make sure that nothing happens to you."
"No…"Inari said softly. "What?"  All three men asked confused.
"No…anyone interfering…gets killed…" She slowly stood up and walked to the door. "I have to report at the village leaders home to prepare for the ritual of tomorrow…" She walked outside and towards the village leaders house.

"Inari! Come back!" Yuuto stood up, but was stopped by Master Shori who had tears in her eyes. "No…you'd kill yourself…and break her heart…I know that you two are in love, but she doesn't want you to die."
"Lemme go! Lemme go!!! I gotta save her!!!!" Yuuto tried to force himself past Master Shori, but shortly after that fell onto the ground unconscious.
"That should keep him down for now…" Shori sighed. "Sorry that you have to see this…" He turned to Scor.
"What is all this about a sacrifice!? And what's this about some golden snake god?" Scor asked furious.

This time is was master Shori's turn to explain. He told him about the golden snake that the village called Quetzalcoatl. Apparently it was some giant golden snake that once attacked the village. The village feared the snake and thought it was some sort of god. The leaders at that time decided that they would give the snake a strong mage of the village at a sacrifice to keep it away. They came to this conclusion because the snake targeted the strong mages in the villages. However this year there were signs of the snake being more restless, so they recently decided to fasten the process.

"And that's all I can tell…" Master Shori ended his story.
"But that's madness! That snake is no god! You guys were just lucky till now!" Scor said.
"I know…people fought the decisions over the years, but every time people started fighting over it, so those people decided to let it go, preventing to divide the town…" Shori sighed. "However…you might be able to help us…you told us that you had the power to take over creatures like the golden snake…"
"Wait…you want me to take over this so called snake god of yours?" Scor asked.
Shori nodded. "I know that it might be a big question, but please help us."
"Yes. But there is a slight problem…" Scor sighed.
"I know…that's where Yuuto comes in." Shori said. "Yuuto developed and perfected a technique to transfer all the wounds and injuries from a human to that to the caster."
"You mean…you want him to take all my injuries, so that I can go save Inari and take over this Quetzalcoatl god being?" Scor asked.
"Yes…Yuuto and Inari as you might have guessed, are lovers. They've known each other since they were kids. Yuuto promised her that he would do anything in his might to keep her safe…even sacrifice his body and health." Shori said to Scor.

That moment Yuuto woke up. "and that's why tomorrow before the ritual, I'll take your injuries and you'll save Inari and as you said, take over the snake god, Quetzalcoatl. Now my question is…will you help me...or will you decide to let Inari die?"
"You really have to ask?" Scor grinned as Yuuto got back onto his feet with a smile as he hugged Scor.
Scor could feel a jolt of pain over his burned skin. "Ouch! Easy mate, the burns still hurt!"
Yuuto quickly let go. "Sorry! I kinda forgot and let my emotions take over."
"Sure, just make sure you don't kill yourself, by taking my injuries." Scor smiled.
"No worries, I'll be there to apply immediate treatment if needed." Shori said.
"Then I suggest we go rest for tomorrow then." Scor said to which Shori and Yuuto agreed.

The next day the three kept is easy till the evening hit. The three went to Yuuto's place to prepare for that evening, while the whole village went to the north, towards the sacrifice plateau, with Inari leading the group completely dressed in white.
The sacrifice plateau was practically one big arena, with a platform in the middle, surrounded by water and a big stairs leading to the top.
In front of the platform a huge opening to the river in the middle of the island.
When the whole village was in the plateau, Inari was brought to the stairs of the middle platform by boat.
Everyone was silent as Inari slowly walked up to the top of the platform.
At the top of the platform she sat down onto her knees and took a deep breath. She looked at the opening and noticed something coming into her direction.
A few moments later a huge golden snake rose from the water and circled around the platform, still receiving gasps out of amazement from the people that watched.
The village leader stood up and raised his arms. "Oh great Quetzalcoatl! Please take our strongest medical mage as a sacrifice to your greatness."
The snakes head came down to Inari as it's tongue slithered over Inari. Next the snakes head pulled back up, ready to lunge and devour Inari.
Inari closed her eyes tightly. "Sorry yuuto…" She whispered to herself as tears came from her eyes.
But the next thing she could hear was a crash to her side and someone landing in front of her. The next thing she heard were loud boos.
She opened her eyes and looked up, seeing something she had never seen. In front of her there stood a being that was half bird and half woman. The body and wings looked like it was steel as she continue looking further up and when she saw the creatures face, she got tears of happiness in her eyes, cause she immediately recognized Scor's in the face, even if it was female.

"Sorry to make it this exiting. I was planning to come faster, but as Yuuto transferred my injuries to him, the casting time got delayed a bit."  Scor said with a smile.
"How do you dare to interrupt our ritual, you monster!!" The village leader yelled.
"How do you dare to sacrifice human beings to a simple snake!" Scor turned to normal and looked at the village leader furiously.
"You…so they put this up…no matter. Quetzalcoatl will get two sacrifices this year then!" He said as he saw the snake rise back up.
"Well…let me tear down this god of yours then!" Scor yelled, making everyone in the arena laugh.

Scor turned to the golden snake. "Your quite big ain't you? Bring it." Scor turned his arms into diamond scorpion claws readying for the snakes attack.
The snake hissed and lunged at Scor, who dodged and struck the snake in the side of the head with his scorpion claws. The snake let out a screech in pain and rapidly lunged for Inari who screamed in fear.
"Oh no you don't!" Scor quickly transformed into the steel harpy and charged it in the side of the head again.
All the people were shocked at Scor's abilities to fight on even ground with their so called god.
Scor kept the golden snake on a distance from Inari with ease when it suddenly spit some sort of liquid to Scor.
Scor instinctively dodged the liquid and was surprised when the part of the platform that was hit with the liquid melted. "Acid…Interesting" Scor smiled as flew up, opening the path to Inari for the snake again. The snake immediately got closer to the platform and wanted to go for Inari, but in mid air Scor transformed back to human form and gave himself his diamond scorpion tail and claws. He started to dive down with some forward moment starting to come crashing down as a big wheel. "Scorpion death wheel!"
The snake unaware of Scor, lunged at Inari again, having Scor crash down on top of its head, knocking it out a meter away from Inari who was in shock as all this happened in front of her.
"Impossible…how can you defy our god, Infidel!" The village leader yelled furious.
"Well simple, by defying him more." Scor said as he put his hand on the head of the snake, making a magic circle appear.
The snake got covered in an incredible light. The crowd booed and yelled to Scor to stop, but slowly the snakes form disappeared and the light when to the magic circle in Scor's fist. When all the light was gone, the magic circle disappeared and Scor stared at the village Elder.

"Where…is… Quetzalcoatl… What did you do to him!" The leader asked as everyone was in shock.
Scor simply stood there as he transformed into a smaller version of the golden snake.
"It was a normal golden colored snake. If it was a god, I would not be able to take it over and turn into it right now." Scor explained.
The village people started talking to each other, wondering what they should believe now.
Scor turned to normal and got the wings of the steel hawk and took Inari in his arms.
"Lemme bring you to Yuuto." Scor smiled. Inari nodded as Scor took off, leaving the complete village in awe and confused about what just happened that day.

Back at Yuuto's place, Master Shori walked outside, panting. "Unbelievable…lovers and the risks they take…"
A few seconds later Scor landed in front of him and put Inari on her own feet. "Oh thank god! You saved her." Shori opened his arms to get a hug from Inari, but she ran past him into the house. "Huh?" Master Shiro was confused, but soon afterwards chuckled, understanding her.
Scor and Master Shori both went inside and saw a crying Inari, tightly hugging Yuuto, who was grinding his teeth in pain.
"Yuuto, you idiot! Why did you do this for me?"  She asked sobbing
Yuuto who was bandaged just as Scor was, simply smiled and replied. "Cause I love you…but could you please let go a bit, my body is really burned." He laughed.
Inari, Scor and Shori couldn't help but laugh together with him. Their laughing however stopped when they heard people outside.
Scor went out first and as the other three followed, he stood in front of them, just in case he had to protect them.

The whole village stood in front of Yuuto's house with the village leader and elders in front of Scor and the others. Scor opened his mouth to tell them to leave them alone, but before he could say something, the leader, the elders and the rest of the village went onto their knees and bowed down.
"What the…" Scor was confused at this sight and so were  Yuuto, Inari and Master Shori.
"Don't tell me…" Scor realized why they bowed, but before he could react, the leader got up and yelled "All hail our new god!" The villagers started cheering in joy.
The three behind Scor started laughing as Scor facepalmed. "Stop! I am not a god!"
The villagers stopped cheering as they stared at Scor. "Now listen to me, I don't care if you worship some stupid god, but I will stay in contact with these three and if I even hear something about a human sacrifice, you can bet your ass that I'll be here as fast as possible to stop it!" Scor said as he grabbed the village leader at the collar. The leader nodded profusely, meaning that he understood.
"Good. Now I think I'll stay a day or two, cause we gotta throw a party for the couple behind us!" Scor grinned as he pointed to Yuuto and Inari, who started blushing.
The villagers looked around and talked a bit, but then all started cheering as a huge party created.
The party went on for about 2-3 days before it was time for Scor to leave.

On the beach where Scor was caught, he and the whole village collected. Inari and Yuuto were hand in hand and master Shiro was followed by a new group of disciples.
Scor turned around to the three and smiled. "Thank you. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have been alive right now…"
Yuuto and Inari interrupted him and smiled. "No…we should thank you. For ending the human sacrifices and…bringing us together officially…" The two looked at each other with a slight blush.
"Well just tell me when the wedding is, cause I'm sure you won't keep that off for long." He laughed and so did the others.
Master Shiro walked to Scor and handed him a piece of paper. "What's this?" Scor asked curiously.
"Well remember how you told me about those anti-alcohol pills of yours? Well I took a look at your recipe and added some mixes that might perfect is."  Shori smiled as he said that.
Scor was amazed and took and shook Shori's hand. "Thank you! I'll make sure to make these as fast as possible!" He smiled.
He then took a few steps back and performed a full body take over into the steel hawk.
"Well this is goodbye, my friends." Scor said with a smile.
"Goodbye, Scor, We'll never forget you." Inari and Yuuto said.
"Neither will I!" Scor replied as he took off. Everyone in the village started waving towards Scor, until he disappeared on the horizon, on his way back to his own home and friends at the guild Sea-wing.
